NEWS: *DEADLINE APPROACHING* National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Scholarships
Draft Applications for the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Scholarships for 2013 are due at the Scholarships Office this Thursday June 21st.
Categories of Award are:

  *   Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Scholarships
  *   Medical and Dental Postgraduate Research Scholarships
  *   Dora Lush Biomedical Postgraduate Research Scholarships (restricted to individuals whose most recent academic qualification was achieved at least 5 years before 1st Jan 2013)
  *   Public Health Postgraduate Research Scholarships
  *   Primary Health Care Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens holding a Special Category Visa. Persons who have applied for but not yet been granted Australian permanent residency or a Special Category Visa may apply, however permanent residency or the Special Category Visa must be obtained prior to commencement of the scholarship.
Draft applications must be submitted to the Scholarships Office for review by Thursday, 21 June 2012.

RESEARCH: Health Practitioner Complaints Analysis; Cardiovascular Disease; Haemophilia


Research Scholarships

Postgraduate Research Scholarship - National registration of health practitioners: a comparative study of the complaints and notification system under the national system and in NSW
A scholarship is available to research complaints procedures against health practitioner groups; the project will be part of a large study undertaking a comparative analysis of complaints procedures against five health practitioner groups: medicine, nursing and midwifery, dentistry, psychology and pharmacy in NSW and the national scheme; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $27,222pa: up to three years.
Closing date: 29 June 2012


CSANZ Research Scholarships
Scholarships are available in the field of cardiovascular disease and related disorders; The Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand invites applications for research scholarships which are intended to enable CSANZ Members to undertake a period of training in research under the full-time supervision of a nominated responsible investigator; applicants must be a member of CSANZ, be a permanent resident in Australia or New Zealand, have not previously been the recipient of the CSANZ Research Scholarship; equivalent to that of the NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship, be enrolled full-time in a PhD; up to one year.
Closing date: 14 September 2012


Haemophilia Foundation Australia Research Scholarship
Scholarships are available in the field of Haemophilia research; a funding round for grants for medical, scientific or social research which will improve outcomes for people with haemophilia, von Willebrand disorder or related inherited bleeding disorders, and/or medically acquired blood borne viruses is now open; applicants must be Australian residents.
