NEWS ITEM: 2012 Semester one Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA), and University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA)

Applications for the 2012 Semester one APA/UPA are now open. The Information for Applicants document, Application Form, and Referee Report form are available for download from: 

http://sydney.edu.au/scholarships/research/postgraduate_awards.shtml. 

Applications close Monday, 31 October 2011. 

 

In addition, supplementary or top-up scholarships will be available in 2012 to highly ranked APA/UPA applicants.  These top-ups are the Vice Chancellor's Research Scholarships, the Val Street Scholarship, University of Sydney Merit Awards, and Alumni Scholarships.  Details of these top-ups are available from the Information for Applicants document.

 

The following scholarships are offered in conjunction with the 2012 Semester one APA/UPA:

 

Faculty Scholarships 

Scholarships in the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources 

Scholarships in the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning

Scholarships in the Business School

Scholarships in the Faculty of Pharmacy

Scholarships in the Faculty of Veterinary Science

NEWS ITEM: Royal North Shore Hospital, UTS, University of Sydney, Kolling Institute of Medical Research, Scientific Research Meeting

The Organising Committee for the 2011 Scientific Research Meeting is now accepting abstracts for the November meeting which will take place 1st - 2nd November 2011 in the Kolling Building, Royal North Shore Hospital. The annual scientific conference brings together researchers from each of these institutions who are invited to submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentation sessions to present their research to their peers. Research Scholarships

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Plate Tectonics

Applications are invited for a 2-year PhD scholarship in Plate Tectonics/Geodynamics working with Professor Dietmar Müller's EarthByte Group for the project "Towards a unified East Gondwanaland reconstruction and its implications for Himalayan Orogeny"; applicants must have an Honours degree in geology or geophysics; $22,860pa; up to two years.

The Tempe Mann Travelling Scholarship   

The Australian Federation of Graduate Women NSW Inc offers the Tempe Mann Annual Scholarship to support the undertaking of a short period of advanced research or course work/study in any field at an overseas university or equivalent institution; applications are open to women who hold a degree from the University of Sydney and are enrolled in a NSW university as a doctorate or research masters student; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents; valued at $7,500.
