Research Scholarships
Top-up Postgraduate Scholarship in Respiratory Cell Biology
A PhD scholarship is available in the field of Respiratory Cell Biology;
the project will investigate a number of exciting areas in respiratory
medicine, and the PhD project will be based around key research areas
(eg respiratory virology, understanding the molecular changes which
occur in lung cells from people with respiratory diseases, and
understanding why therapeutics do not always work); applicants would be
expected to either have, or be in the process of applying for, a primary
scholarship (eg APA or equivalent) for a PhD and be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $10,000pa; up to
three years.

Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC)
Postgraduate Scholarships
Applications are open for the 2012 RIRDC Postgraduate Scholarships;
RIRDC was established by the Australian Government to work with industry
to invest in research and development for a more profitable, sustainable
and dynamic rural sector; applicants must be Australian citizens or
permanent residents, holding an honours degree or equivalent in an
appropriate discipline; $26,000pa; up to three years for PhD studies.
Closing Date: 11 November 2011
PhD Scholarship MND top-up grant
A top-up scholarship is available from the Motor Neurone Disease (MND)
Research Institute of Australia; one 3-year PhD top-up scholarship will
be offered to a PhD student who has been awarded a University PhD
scholarship for biomedical or public health research in motor neurone
disease; $5,000pa; up to three years.

Australian Solar Institute (ASI) PhD Scholarship Program
PhD scholarships are available to assist in the development of Solar
Technologies; the Australian Solar Institute (ASI) is offering PhD
Scholarships as part of its commitment to support, develop and retain
Australian solar research talent; applicants must have an H1 or H2 (i)
degree in a related field, or expect to be granted such degree by the
time of taking up an ASI Scholarship and be an Australian citizen or
Australian permanent resident; up to
$40,000pa; up to three years.
Closing Date: 27 October 2011
Postgraduate Scholarship in Polymer Engineering
A scholarship is available in the field of Polymer Engineering; the
project is to investigate the synthesis and behaviour of complex
polymeric nanoparticles, and their manufacture; applicants should have
industrial experience in process commissioning, trouble-shooting and
optimisation and preference will be given to applicants who are
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens; $22,860pa; up to 1 year.
