Research Scholarships
Postgraduate Scholarship in Biophysics
A scholarship is available in the field of Biophysics with the School of
Physics; applicants must have a first class honours degree and identify
a primary supervisor and associate supervisor from the School of
Physics, both of whom are prepared to supervise the student; $22,860pa;
up to three years.
Closing Date: 24 August 2011
CUDOS Postgraduate Scholarship
A scholarship is available within the CUDOS group of the School of
Physics; applicants must have a first class honours degree and identify
a primary supervisor and associate supervisor from the School of
Physics, both of whom are prepared to supervise the student; $22,860pa;
up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Cosmic Magnetism
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
astronomy; in this project, a student will develop new methods for
measuring astrophysical magnetic fields, and will then apply these
techniques to data from the Polarisation Sky Survey of the Universe's
Magnetism (POSSUM); Applicants must have completed the requirements for
a first-class honours degree (or equivalent) in physics or astrophysics.
Skill at oral/written communication, proficiency in a
programming/scripting language, and knowledge/experience of radio
astronomy are all desirable but not essential; $26,669pa; up to three
years with a possible maximum extension of up to twelve months.

Overseas Scholarships
Dan David Prize
Tel Aviv University will provide 10 Dan David Prize Awards to study
topics in the pre-selected fields of: Past (History/Biography), Present
(Plastic Arts) and Future (Genome Research); aimed at outstanding
doctoral and postdoctoral students; applicants should show excellent
achievement and promise studying topics related to the pre-selected
fields; US$15,000.
Closing Date: 15 March 2012
