National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)
Career development fellowships
These are available for public health and health service delivery research. Funding worth up to $97,769 or $108,142 per annum is available, which covers salary, salary on-costs, maintenance and travel.
Clinical career development awards
These are intended to further develop Australian health and medical researchers early in their careers. Funding of up to $108,142 per annum is available.
Industry career development awards
Funding is available to support outstanding medical and health researchers early in their career for a duration of four years. Funding is worth up to $99,431 for the first year of the level one awards and up to $109,980 for the first year of level two awards.
Partnership career development fellowships
These awards are offered through funding partnerships agreed between the NHMRC and each partner organisation. Funding of up to $99,431 or $109,980 per annum is available.

These support training in basic research either in Australia or overseas, to enable fellows to work on research projects with nominated advisers. Paediatric endocrinology research grants

These support clinical research in the field of paediatric endocrinology and associated areas. The total budget for this programme is $150,000 per annum and grants, worth up to $55,000, are awarded for one year.

Research project grants
Channel 7 Children’s Research Foundation
Funding is awarded to universities, research institutes, health services and other organisations in South Australia and the Northern Territory for research projects into conditions that may affect the health, education and welfare of children. Project grants are each worth $75,000 for a maximum period of two years. Early career grants are each worth a maximum of $35,000. Each year the foundation disburses approximately $1 million.

Academic Exchange Fellowships
Sir Zelman Cowen Universities Fund
The University of Sydney and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have in place an agreement to encourage mutual visits by academic staff. Visits by post-doctoral fellows and academic staff of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to the University of Sydney will be considered for support from the Sir Zelman Cowen Universities Fund. Applications for support are invited from all disciplines and will be ranked on academic merit. Preference will be given to projects in the area of Semitic Studies..

Cooperation in higher education and training between the EU and Australia and the EU and the Republic of Korea

These support fundamental or clinical research projects on the discovery of treatments for genetic intelligence diseases, in particular trisomy 21, but also including: fragile X syndrome, cri du chat syndrome, rare chromosomal abnormalities, Rett, Williams Beuren, Willi Prader and Angelman syndromes. The Foundation also provides support for the organisation of congresses or courses. Imrich Sarkany non-European memorial scholarship

This fellowship enables internationally renowned experts in a field that is relevant in the context of the Hague Institute for the Internationalisation of Law research programme to spend a period of time at NIAS to work on a publication. Dutch fellows are provided with a replacement subsidy and non-Dutch Fellows are provided with a stipend. Lodging for the unaccompanied fellow or the fellow and his family can also be provided at NIAS. Fellows are selected from prominent Dutch and foreign researchers and senior scholars in law and/or the social sciences. The fellowships are awarded for a full research year, or for one semester. Openlab summer students

These are given to submitted industrial archaeological projects involving a substantial element of site recording in the field, together with supporting research.
