Title:
Postdoctoral and Senior Fellowships
Description:
Postdoctoral Fellowships of three to twelve months are available for
scholars who have held the doctoral degree or equivalent for fewer than
seven years as of the application deadline. Senior Fellowships of three
to twelve months are available for scholars who have held the doctoral
degree or equivalent for more than seven years as of the application
deadline. Applications for senior fellowships may be made up to eighteen
months in advance. Stipends for senior fellowships are the same as for
the postdoctoral program, but the Smithsonian's stipend may be matched
by other sources of funding such as a sabbatical salary.
Eligibility:
Must have held a PhD or equivalent for more than seven years
Amount awarded:
Senior and Postdoctoral - US$45,000 per year

Research Seed Grant
Description:
To enable investigators throughout the world to gain experience in
defining objectives and testing hypotheses in preparation for major
grant applications to corporations, foundations, and governmental
agencies. The data from these projects will indicate feasibility and
appropriateness of the research prior to applying for funds from other
agencies.
The nature of the projects, are any area of research related to the
radiologic sciences.
Eligibility:
Applicant must be an RSNA Member

Applications are accepted from individuals throughout the world. The
Applicant must hold a full-time faculty position in a department of
radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine within an educational
institution.

Title:
Project Grants
Description:
HeartKids Australia (HKA) is seeking to identify suitable Project Grants
for funding in the area of paediatric cardiology via NHMRC's 2010
Project Grants funding round.
HKA is an organisation focussed on childhood heart disease. They offer
support to families of children with heart disease, congenital and
acquired. HKA has partnered with leading cardiologists and researchers
to provide research funding for them to assist in reducing the incidence
of Childhood Heart Disease and to improve mortality rates and outcomes.
HeartKids have expressed interest in funding Project Grant applications
assessed by NHMRC as fundable (category 4 or 5), though did not receive
NHMRC funding.

ranked as fundable (category 4 or 5) but did not receive NHMRC funding,

Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute (APHCRI)
Title:
International Visiting Fellowships 2011
Description:
APHCRI provides funding for International Visiting Fellows to be
sponsored by members of the APHCRI Network and related Australian
primary health care research organisations.
The program allows research groups (not limited to previous or existing
members of the APHCRI Network) to bid for funds, to support the travel
and related costs of bringing international primary health care experts
to Australia. Proposals that are part of an ongoing project
collaboration will not be supported.
The International Visiting Fellows will spend up to one month with their
sponsoring institution - this time also includes the mandatory visit to
Canberra.

Title:
Research Grant Preproposal 2011-2012
Description:
Preproposals for research projects addressing clinical aspects of exotic
and wild birds, including diagnostic tests, drug doses, practice
management, and conservation, are now being accepted for consideration
for funding by the Association of Avian Veterinarians.
Investigators should be advised that indirect costs such as travel,
publication costs, salaries, and overhead shall not be funded by the
Association of Avian Veterinarians.
All prospective research studies funded by the Association of Avian
Veterinarians (AAV) must receive full approval by the facility's
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) or equivalent
research review entity. If IACUC (or equivalent) approval is pending at
the time of full proposal submission to the AAV, proof of subsequent
complete approval must be made available to the AAV before funds can be
released for the research project.
Amount awarded:
Grants are limited to US$10,000.00 for an individual project.
Application guide:
Electronic submission - must be contained on one 8.5" x 11" page,
minimum font size of 10 points. Preproposals exceeding one page or using
smaller font will not be accepted for consideration.
