Funding Body:

Perpetual Trustees Charitable Trusts 

Title:

Perpetual Founding Round 2011

Description:

Perpetual Trustees manages over 140 charitable trusts of a discretionary nature which distribute funds as general charitable support or for specific groups or purposes. Perpetual seeks applications for projects which cover some of the following purposes: animal welfare and the preservation of animal wildlife; aid and support for people with disabilities; medical research and advancement of medical science; blind and vision impaired people; care, welfare and education of children; education, early intervention and rehabilitation of disadvantaged young people; assistance for the homeless and families living in poverty; support for the aged;  social and educational advancement of Tibetan Buddhism, projects working within the Jewish Community of Victoria; Myeloproliferative disease; Lupus and Parkinson's disease.

Please note the following: 

Perpetual will only accept ONE application PER School/Department and a maximum of FOUR applications from each University;

Eligibility:

Individuals are not eligible to apply.

Amount awarded:

Gifts generally range between $10,000 & $100,000.

Please note that the funding round dates have changed this year - the funding round opened on Monday 1 November 2010, and closes at 5pm EDST on Wednesday 12 January 2011. Universities may submit one application per department, up to a maximum of four applications per organisation. Due to the Christmas closedown of the University from 20 December 2010 until 4 January 2011, we require all applications to be submitted to the Research Grants Administration by 3 December 2010. The Selection Committee meeting will be held in mid December to make decision on the final four applications.

The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS)

Title:

Research Grants 2011

Description:

The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies research grants round, for funding starting in July 2011, is now open for applications.

The Program will fund research into a wide range of areas in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, such as history (including family and community history), politics, law, public policy, health (social, cultural and environmental aspects), biological sciences, education, Indigenous knowledge systems, linguistics, social anthropology, archaeology and the arts. 

Applications in the special emphasis categories of 'Relations with Government', 'Economic Sustainability' and 'Knowledge About and Caring for Country' are particularly invited.

Australian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association Limited (AVCAL)

Title:

Research Prizes

Description:

The aim of this programme is to encourage the development of high-quality research on issues of importance and relevance to the Private Equity and Venture Capital industry in Australia, and to increase knowledge and understanding of the industry through the publication of pertinent articles in the scholarly press. Submissions are invited from academia and industry participants for these prizes.

Eligibility:

Academia (e.g. university/research staff in Australia and overseas, MBA and postgraduate students) and financial industry practitioners

Amount awarded:

The prizes are:

·         AVCAL Private Equity Research Prize: A$2,500 will be awarded for the best paper on private equity

·         AVCAL Venture Capital Research Prize: A$2,500 will be awarded for the best paper on venture capital

The Trans-Antarctic Association

Title:

Travel Grant

Description:

The Trans-Antarctic Association provides financial grants in support of field work or travel to Antarctica, as well as equipment and other research activities directly related to Antarctica. One third of the available funds are awarded to New Zealand nationals through the New Zealand Advisory Committee, with the remainder being awarded to nationals from Australia, South Africa and the UK.

Amount awarded:

Up to a maximum of £1,500
