Statement on Consumer and Community Participation in Health and Medical
Research - NHMRC (2002)
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is reviewing
the above publication with the aim of investigating what support
research institutes require to assist their researchers to better engage
consumers and community groups in their research.
You may or may not be familiar with the Statement, and its accompanying
resources - the Model Framework for Consumer and Community Engagement in
Health and Medical Research (2004) and the Resource Kit for Consumer and
Community Engagement in Health and Medical Research (2004), available on
the NHMRC website at
http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/publications/synopses/r22syn.htm
In doing this work, the NHMRC seeks to:
* determine whether researchers and research institutions are aware
of and/or use the resources
* identify how helpful they may have been for individual researchers
* gauge the impact they may have had on consumer and community
engagement
* receive suggestions for improvements to the Statement and its
implementation.
We would appreciate if you could participate by completion of the survey
which can be accessed via this link to the NHMRC website:
http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/publications/synopses/r22syn/survey.htm
The survey will be accessible until 3 December 2010.
If you have any problems accessing the survey, or questions about it,
please call 02 6217 9402 or email ccg at nhmrc.gov.au
The NHMRC will use the feedback from this survey to progress
improvements in this area, and we look forward to working with your
organisation with the ultimate aim of improving consumer engagement in
research
