Development module for new and emerging Chief Investigators

This workshop aims to provide you with an efficient and structured approach to reviewing and evaluating a project. This approach will enable you to meet minimum client/sponsor obligations and capture ways by which you can improve your future approach to overall research project design, development and implementation.

The module also aims to illustrate some of the different requirements of different project types that university researchers need to be aware of as well as the benefits of using the closeout process to identify future research opportunities and improved research practices.

Module 8: Project Review and Evaluation (workshop on 22 June) will be presented by Professors Judith Black, and Professor Peter Goodyear.

This module is in three parts:

· On line material and activities to be read and completed

· Attendance at a ½ day workshop (Workshop held at the Darlington Centre - Camperdown Campus)

· A guided conversation with an experienced researcher

Australasian Association for Institutional Research (AAIR)

Title:

Call for Abstracts and Registration for AAIR Forum

Description:

2010's theme "Has institutional research come of age in Australasia?" will have a focus on strategic priorities in the higher education sector and include sub-streams focusing on:

*	the equity agenda in higher education, 2010 and beyond;
*	supporting models for academic standards;
*	improving participation and retention of students;
*	improving TAFE pathways and partnerships.

The theme of this year's Forum also invites discussion about the maturity of institutional research in our region. For those long standing AAIR members this will provide an opportunity to consider the changes that have occurred over time and to assess how far institutional research has come. It might also provide an opportunity to re-learn some of the lessons for surviving and prospering in times of government led reform. As well as encouraging reflection, this theme is intended to encourage participants to showcase examples of current day "best practice" and to consider likely developments for the future.

Social Science Research Grant Program

Description:

WADA's mission is to promote, co-ordinate and monitor, on an international basis, the fight against doping in sport in all its forms. As part of its strategic objectives, WADA has identified both education and research as priorities. It is essential that anti-doping education programs and initiatives be based on scientific knowledge and evidence. Therefore a Social Sciences Research Grant Program has been created to encourage research in the social sciences and to obtain information, which will enable more efficient doping-prevention strategies.
