IMPORTANT NOTICE  for all University of Sydney Early Career Researchers

NEW - ARC Discovery - Early Career Researcher Awards Scheme 2011

You will very likely be aware of the new ARC Scheme aimed specifically
at funding Early Career Researchers. This scheme will be run for the
first time in 2011 for funding commencing in 2012. For the purposes of
this scheme we expect you will be considered an Early Career Researcher
if you are 0 - 5 years post PhD award. 

The ARC has not yet finalised its funding rules for this scheme, however
we expect it will attract a large number of applications from ECRs
across the sector. As we are keen to ensure that as many ECRs from
Sydney as possible are able to make competitive applications, we would
appreciate your advice on whether you intend to apply so that we can
plan how best to provide you with assistance in writing your
application.  In order to do this we would ask that you let Jenny Turner
know by 14 January 2011 that you are considering making an application.
