Two Rounds of 50 fellowships are available (50 for 2010, 50 for 2011 -- 100 in total), though both rounds close on November 25. Fellows do not need to be named in the application, but each proposal requires at least one CI who meets the usual ARC eligibility criteria. Once a fellowship is awarded, a recruitment process would take place. A Proposal may be submitted only by an Eligible Organisation linked to existing Super Science funding (for example, National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Scheme funding within a theme area); and/or be involved in an ARC Centre of Excellence, strategic priority of a Publicly Funded Research Agency and/or CRC within one or more of the key theme areas. The three theme areas are: i. Space science and astronomy; ii. Marine and climate science; and iii. Future industries research-biotechnology and nanotechnology. The fellowships will be funded up to $72,500 per year (+ on-costs) with a requirement that the University contribute at least $20,000 per year. Full details available at the links provided below. Each University, however, may only submit three applications in each theme area, in each round - 18 total. Given the restrictions on the number of applications and the tight timing we need to know asap who is considering applying for these fellowships. It may be that the University needs to have an internal selection process to decide which applications can go forward. In the first instance then we simply need to know who is interested in applying, for how many fellowships and the theme area.
