Bionic Eye Research-Applications Open
The Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator Kim Carr, today opened the $50 million Research in Bionic Science and Technology Initiative for applications.
Under the initiative, a leading research team or teams will receive up to $50 million to initiate significant national and international research collaboration to develop a bionic eye. This research initiative delivers on the Australian Government's promise, as part of its 2020 Summit response, to implement a long-term national health strategy.
The Initiative will be administered by the Australian Research Council and the assessment of funding proposals will involve national and international experts.
For more information please call Learning Solutions on 9036 4731
Applications for funding will close on 29th July 2009.
For more information on the initiative and to download the funding rules visit: <http://www.arc.gov.au/> http://www.arc.gov.au/
Now the grant is over - how do you make the most of wrapping the project up?
Are you a new or emerging Chief Investigator who is wondering what needs to happen at the end of a grant project?
In research projects, final steps (project closeout) are often overlooked or done poorly as the focus moves towards gaining funding for the next project and team members leave to join other projects. Yet closeout is a critical component of the research project that is not just about ticking boxes and transferring responsibility. If it is done well, closeout can provide the platform for future research projects and research funding, but if it is done badly can make it difficult to gain future funding for the individual and the organisation or even have punitive consequences.
The workshop is on Thursday 9 July from 9am - 1.00pm at the Darlington Centre.
