NHMRC Project Grants - Funding Commencing 2011
Project grant application for funding commencing in 2011 are now open.
Application Process
The Project Grant submission in 2010 for funding in 2011 will be via a
new web-based submission process called "Research Grant Management
System" (RGMS).
We strongly advise you to get on to the new system and start compiling
your CV and Profile a soon as possible.
Grant ID
The on-line Project Grant application will automatically generate an ID
for the application, therefore you don't need to request a Project Grant
ID number from this Office.
Username and ID to access RGMS
Current grant holders and applicants on system:
If you are currently named on an NHMRC grant or you have made a
application to the NHMRC in the last two years you will be on the their
system and you will soon receive your username and password by email.
When you initiate the username and password you will be prompted to
insert a current NHMRC grant ID, if you don't have a current NHMRC grant
ID, please email RGMS at nhmrc.gvo.au <mailto:RGMS at nhmrc.gvo.au> and they
will issue you with a code that can be used in place of the 'Current
NHMRC Grant ID'.
New users:
If you are not on their system you will need to register.

The click on prompt - > To access RGMS please click here
<http://www.rgms.nhmrc.gov.au>
This will take you to the main Research Grants management System (RGMS)
login page.
Follow the "New User Request" prompt - accepted the Disclaimer and fill
in the "User Profile" details as requested. This will allow you to
request a new username and password.
NHMRC Funding Policy and Instructions
Funding policy for projects commencing in 2011 is available at -

The Project Grant Advice and Instructions will be made available
shortly.
University of Sydney Internal Guidelines
The USyd Guidelines to assist applicants will be available week
beginning 4th January 2010 via our website and Research Office bulletin.
Deadlines
University of Sydney Internal Deadline - 17th February 2010
NHMRC deadline - 17th March 2010
Grant Writing Assistance
Tim Haydon will be available this year to assist you with the logic,
language, presentation and overall clarity of your proposal (especially
the synopsis, detailed background and research plan, and track records).

Library of successful applications
The Research Office has a library of successful applications from
previous rounds. These are available in hard copy for review on a
read-only basis.
