The event will be opened by the Vice-Chancellor, Michael Spence, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Jill Trewhella, and features a series of short and accessible presentations that span the research capacities of the University spotlighting the current work, achievements and aspirations of our youngest and brightest researchers. The Showcase is a wonderful opportunity to find out about the fascinating research presented by our emerging researchers. It is a great chance for other researchers to identify potential for future multi-disciplinary collaborations. After the formal program there is an opportunity to chat with the presenters over refreshments. Early Career Researchers (within 10 years of PhD) who would like to present a short talk for a general audience explaining *what* you do,*why* you do it and *how* you do it, please submit an abstract/biosketch (including talk title) by Friday August 28th. The Strategy comprises: ? $14.4 million for community level initiatives to confront the culture of binge drinking, particularly in sporting organisations, * $19.1 million to intervene earlier to assist young people and ensure that they assume personal responsibility for their binge drinking, and * $20 million for advertising that confronts young people with the costs and consequences of binge drinking.
