TRAINING FELLOWSHIP WORKSHOP: APPLYING FOR AN NH&MRC TRAINING
FELLOWSHIP?
Research Portfolio has organized the following seminar to provide
support to applicants preparing NHMRC Training Fellowship applications
for funding commencing in 2009.
WHEN and WHERE: Monday 26th May 2008 - Time: 10:30 am-12:30 pm - Venue -
Room 410a, Upstairs in Pharmacy Building A15 (The Bank Building),
Science Road, The University of Sydney
The Seminar will cover the following:
* A Panel perspective?
Professor Carol Armour will give an outline of the scheme and the
processes involved at the NHMRC. She will then provide an overview of
the Training Awards Panel and a personal insight into the peer review
process and some guidance in structuring your application.
* Presenting your C.V. and Track Record
Dr Janette Burgess an NHMRC Career Development awardee will provide
advice on structuring your Track record both for the application and
future career development.
* Writing an NHMRC training fellowship application
Mr Tim Haydon, external consultant with experience in scientific
writing, will lead a discussion aimed at giving practical suggestions on
grant writing and giving an overview on how to structure your
application to your audience i.e. the panel and getting the message
across.
