Introduction: The Volkswagen Foundation hopes that its funding initiative will contribute towards stemming this irretrievable loss. National Psoriasis Foundation (NHF)- Research Grants 2008
Introduction: The National Psoriasis Foundation is offering three grants in support of innovative psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis research projects in genetics, immunology or clinical research focused on mechanism of disease. When the National Psoriasis Foundation was founded in 1968, there was very little activity in the field of psoriasis research. One of the initial goals of the founding members of the Psoriasis Foundation was to spark greater interest in psoriasis research. Today, thanks in large part to the work of the Foundation, research activity in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis is at an all-time high.

Association for International Cancer Research (AICR)- Research Grants
Introduction: AICR supports fundamental and translational research into the causes, mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer. We will consider proposals in which a mixture of basic and clinical research is proposed. However, completely clinical applications, such as intervention studies, clinical trials or health care delivery research and many substantially clinical applications are beyond the remit of AICR. Before submitting applications of a clinical or semi-clinical nature, potential applicants are strongly encouraged to seek our advice.
Eligibility: The main applicant should normally have a PhD and, at the time they would take up the grant, sufficient experience to suggest they can conduct independent research, (e.g. at least three years post-doctoral work) or, for clinical applicants, a similar level of qualification and experience.
Amount Awarded: Most of the grants we award are between £100,000 and £200,000 over three years.
Indirect Cost Recovery: This scheme is exempt from University of Sydney indirect costs.

Fisheries Research & Development Corporation (FRDC)- Preliminary Proposals
Introduction: The FRDC is calling for preliminary proposals. Please read the R&D Priorities <http://www.frdc.com.au/research/priorities/> thoroughly before applying. To apply for funding, you should take the following steps:
* Read the FRDC’s R&D plan <http://www.frdc.com.au/plan> to identify the key priority areas for funding.
* Contact your local state Fisheries Research Advisory Body (FRAB) <http://www.frdc.com.au/research/frab> and (if appropriate) a FRDC Subprogram Leader <http://www.frdc.com.au/subprograms> .
* Submit a pre-proposal to your FRAB in accord with its timetable.
* Following feedback from the FRAB, submit a full application to FRDC via our web application package (FishNet <http://www.fishnet.gov.au/> ).
