Introduction to Funding Opportunity:  The Grains Research and
Development Corporation (GRDC) is seeking expressions of interest for
the conduct of free air carbon dioxide enrichment (FACE)
experimentation. The purpose of this research is to assess the effects
of elevated carbon dioxide levels and the growth in grain production of
wheat.

NSW Health - NSW Health Capacity Building Infrastructure Grants Program
2006/7 to 2008/9
 
Introduction to Funding Opportunity: The Capacity Building
Infrastructure Grants Program is a competitive funding program
administered by NSW Health. Its purpose is to build capacity and
strengthen research in the key areas of public health, primary health
care and the provision of health services. The Department is pleased to
announce Round 2 of the Capacity Building Infrastructure Grants Program
(the CBIG Program).

The Australian Academy of the Humanities - Publication Subsidy Scheme
  
Introduction to Funding Opportunity: One of the aims of the Australian
Academy of the Humanities (AAH) is to advance knowledge of the
Humanities by encouraging and supporting scholarship, and the pursuit of
excellence, in the broad-ranging fields of the Humanities.
In accordance with this aim, the AAH includes in its activities the
Publication Subsidy Scheme to provide modest financial support for the
publication of scholarly works of high quality in the Humanities.

Eligibility: Humanities scholars based in Australia - both independent
and those working within an institution - are eligible for the scheme.

Amount awarded: Generally, grants between $1000 - $3000 are awarded.

James S. McDonnell Foundation - Research Awards
 
Introduction to Funding Opportunity: 21st Century Science Research
Awards are designed to support research projects with a high probability
of generating new knowledge and insights. Projects submitted for funding
consideration should be at an early, even preliminary stage of
development that intend to break new ground or to challenge
commonly-held assumptions. Projects submitted should be sufficiently
novel, cross-disciplinary, or heterodox that they would not be strong
candidates for federal funding.

Eligibility: (JSMF) funds internationally. Applications must be
sponsored by a non-profit institution as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of
the United States Internal Revenue Tax Code. Institutions outside the
United States should read carefully the additional information on tax
requirements available here <http://www.jsmf.org/admin/tax-info.htm> . 

Amount awarded: A maximum of $450,000 total costs can be requested and
the funds can be expended over a minimum of 3 years or a maximum of 6
years.

Introduction to Funding Opportunity: One of the National Archives' key

Introduction to Funding Opportunity: The National Archives offers
Margaret George Awards annually to individuals interested in conducting
research substantially utilising its collection. 

Eligibility: Successful applicants will have scholarly credentials
preferably with a doctorate related to their intended area of research.

Amount awarded: Assistance will be provided up to the value of $10,000
for living supplement and airfare or equivalent and the final award
amount will be at the discretion of the judging panel.

Introduction to Funding Opportunity: Distinguished Achievement Awards --
a component of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Freedom to Discover Grants and
Awards Program -- are presented annually to individuals for outstanding
contributions in the fields of cancer, cardiovascular, infectious
diseases, metabolic diseases, neuroscience and nutrition.

The CASS Foundation - Postdoctoral Travel Grants
 
Introduction to Funding Opportunity: "CASS" is an acronym for
"Contributing to Australian Scholarship and Science", and is a private
philanthropic foundation, created to support and promote the advancement
of education, science and medicine, and research in those fields. The
travel grants are available to assist attendance at international
conferences or other approved activities conducted outside Australia,
and are not available for travel or attendance at conferences or other
activities within Australia. 

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian Citizens or permanent
Residents of Australia

Amount awarded: Amount of grant available is up to $A5,000
