3	Academy of Social Sciences - Workshop Program

The Academy of Social Sciences Workshop Program aims to identify issues
of national concern in the social sciences, and to focus specialist
attention on them by means of workshops and roundtables. The program
provides for intellectual exchange and innovation, a mechanism for
exploring linkages between research and policy, and a means of involving
younger scholars.

RESEARCH GRANTS

4	Cancer Council NSW - Strategic Research Partnership Grants
The Cancer Council NSW is inviting Expressions of Interest for its
inaugural Strategic Research Partnership Grants, commencing in 2006, to
facilitate collaboration with clinical research teams to solve high
priority research questions with a tangible impact on cancer control.

The internal closing date for expressions of interest is 5 pm, Friday 24

5	Department of Communications, Info Technology, & the Arts -
Sport and Anti-Doping Research Program Funding
Applications for funding are now being sought for research projects to
improve the analytical capability of detecting banned substances and
doping agents in sport. The practical feasibility of a valid detection
test is a high priority. The present round of applications are
particularly seeking to seed novel approaches to doping control in areas
where new or improved doping control tests could be developed. Funding
proposals should normally not exceed $200,000 per year. However, larger
proposals may be considered subject to strong justification and
alignment with doping control research priorities.
