Special Bulletin: Research Training and Postgraduate Research Scholarships

This is a reminder that the following internal funding schemes are now open:
1. THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY RESEARCH AND
DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
2004 FOR 2005 FUNDING
The guidelines and application form for The University of Sydney Research
and Development Grants Scheme are now on the web at:
http://www.usyd.edu.au/su/reschols/forms/forms.htm.
Applicants should note that the former Sesqui New Staff Support Scheme and
the Sesqui Research and Development Scheme are now replaced with The
University of Sydney Research & Development (R&D) Scheme.
A new component of the scheme in 2005 is a specific funding allocation
(separate from other R&D project applications) to support applications from
Early Career Researchers.
The closing date for the scheme is 20 August 2004.

Equipment Scheme 2005 are now on the web at:

The closing date for the scheme is 13 September 2004.

2. RESEARCH TRAINING AND POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH
SCHOLARSHIPS FORUM
The Dean of Graduate Studies and the Research Office will be conducting a
forum to inform the wider University community regarding the DEST Research
Training Scheme as well as postgraduate research scholarship policies and
opportunities within the University. In addition to providing relevant
information, the forum aims to initiate discussion and suggestions for
promoting research training within the University and recruiting and
retaining high calibre postgraduate research students.
The forum will be held on Thursday, 5 August 2004, at the Eastern Ave
Lecture Theatre. Afternoon tea will be provided from 2.30pm followed by
Forum 3-4.30pm.
