NEWS

AUSTRALIAN HEALTH MINISTERS' CONFERENCE (AHMC) PRIORITY DRIVEN RESEARCH
(PDR) PROGRAM - ROUND 2 - CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

The Australian Health Ministers' Conference (AHMC) has initiated an
exciting program to identify key areas of health research priority in
Australia. This is its second round of research funding and the Australian
Health Ministers' Advisory Council (AHMAC) will allocate $4 million towards
supporting priority research areas. For more information please go to the
February News section in the Research Office website by following this
link: http://www.usyd.edu.au/su/reschols/news.htm

DISCOVERY PROJECTS UPDATE
There is a difference between the ARC Fellowships salaries listed in
Appendix 2 of the DP Funding Rules for funding commencing in 2005, and the
figures being auto-populated in the GAMS form. The salaries in the Funding
Rules are the 2004 Notional Fellowship Salaries and the figures
auto-populating in GAMS are 2003 figures. The difference in figures
occurred because the ARC received the 2004 figures just prior to posting
the Funding Rules on the web, however if they had included the new figures
in the form the release of the form would have been delayed.

Please note that the ARC will update the auto-populated figures when
assigning budgets to projects recommended for funding.

MARIE CURIE - TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE FELLOWSHIPS (TOK) UPDATE
Please be aware that a 50-page handbook for TOK fellowships is available
for all interested parties on the Marie Curie Awards website:
