AUSTRALIAN ANTARCTIC DIVISION (AAD) - ANTARCTIC GRANTS
AAD is inviting researchers for projects in Antarctica in 2004-2005. The
presentation will explain the new air transport opportunities, directions
of the recently established Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative
Research Centre (ACE CRC), the Australian Antarctic Grants Scheme, and the
Antarctic Science Program.

Applicants are invited to attend a presentation night in Sydney on 8 April
2003 at 3.30pm at the Novotel Darling Harbour, 50-100 Murray Street.
AUSTRALIA COUNCIL COMMUNITY CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT ROS BOWER AWARD
Australia Council is calling for nominations from organizations and
individuals for the Ros Bower Award. An award of $40,000 is made to an
individual artist or arts worker. Please note an artist or arts worker may
not nominate themselves.

AUSTRALIA COUNCIL COMMUNITY CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT AND DANCE GRANTS 2003
Australia Council makes available financial resources aimed at supporting
and promoting the creation and presentation of artistic works by individual
artists, by arts organisations, by and for the wider community. Grants
awarded can reach as high as $40,000, and span more than 12 months, but not
more than 2 years.

ROYAL SOCIETY OF VICTORIA RESEARCH GRANTS
The Society invites applications for research grants in the Biological or
Earth Sciences. Grants of amounts up to A$1,000 are available to support
research in these areas and may be used for field travel, equipment,
photographic drafting, or other illustrative assistance but not for
subsistence. Applicants must hold an Australian Citizenship.

AUSTRALIAN BREWER'S FOUNDATION - ALCOHOL RELATED MEDICAL RESEARCH GRANT SCHEME
The Australian Brewers' Foundation has made available funds for
alcohol-related research in 2004. Grants may be given to support research
on the medical, social and public health aspects of moderate, hazardous or
harmful alcohol consumption. Grants are generally for one year, in the
range of $25,000 to $35,000 - although applications will be accepted in the
range of $2,000 to $50,000.

CLIVE & VERA RAMACIOTTI FOUNDATIONS BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH GIFTS AND AWARDS
Applications are invited for grants available in 2004 from groups or
individuals undertaking biomedical research within universities, public
hospitals, medical research
institutes or other institutes approved by the Trustee. Note: Changes have
been made to Ramaciotti grants for 2004. Applications are invited for two
types of gifts:
a) Establishment; and
b) Major Equipment.

DCITA TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH GRANT
The objective of the research grants program is to support high quality,
empirical research in connection with social, economic, environmental or
technological implications of telecommunications developments that will
inform government policy on telecommunications industry development and

JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION TRAVEL GRANT AWARDS FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS
The Foundation invites applications from researchers for grants of up to
$2,000 to allow travel to research institutions or scientific meetings for
the purpose of furthering the researcher's expertise in the study of type 1
(insulin dependent) diabetes mellitus.

AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF THE HUMANITIES - SWEDISH ROYAL ACADEMY EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The AAH and the Swedish Royal Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities
have an exchange agreement, which provides for one established Australian
scholar per year, who is already visiting Europe, to undertake research in
Sweden for a maximum of one month. Accommodation and a per diem is provided
up to a maximum of SEK30,000.

ACADEMY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES - ROYAL NETHERLANDS ACADEMY OF ARTS AND
SCIENCES EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The Australian Academy and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and
Sciences facilitates have an exchange program for scholars to visit
specific research institutes or conferences in the Netherlands, preferably
for periods of one or two weeks. This program has importance for continued
access to Dutch research and research materials on Indonesia.
